Chances are good that the e-mail you sent to senior level executives is read by someone else (usually their administrative assistants). An online poll conducted by the International Association of Administrative Professionals and The ePolicy Institute reveals that busy executives are utilizing administrative assistants to manage their e-mail. E-mail is the number one method for business people to communicate, growing at a rate of sixty-six percent annually. The ePolicy Institute reports the following poll results:
–Forty-three percent of administrative professionals ghostwrite e-mail for their bosses.
–Twenty-nine percent of administrative assistants are authorized to delete e-mail from the boss’s inbox.
–Twenty six percent of administrative assistants screen incoming e-mail to the boss.
Make sure if you are sending email to a senior level executive that its very compelling and use a subject line that will attract attention.
